Dominions 3 Empty Dominions 3

So, I recently started playing Dom 3...

Pretty bitchin'.

Anyone else heard of it/play it?

I think it would be much more fun multiplayer though, so if a couple of you have it and want a game...

It's a grand strategy sort of game. Essentially a cross between EUIII and HoMMII.

Googled.

"Dominions 3: The Awakening is a fantasy turn-based strategy game created by" BZZZT no.

I looked at the main page for around 7 seconds. Didn't like the look of it.

Cossacks was my strategy type game. Loved it.. Been so long since I use to play that online.. Years..

and Risk is another that ive played and dont mind.

I'd be up for Cossacks, I love that game to bits, though I never played online.

Haven't played it for quite some time.

Risk is neat too, but I don't like playing online as much as playing the board game... feels so much more... epic.

I've dabbled in Dom 3, though I distinctly recall being shit at it.

It's fairly complex, from first glance.

Don't think I'm gonna win my current (first) game, but I'm not doing too bad.

I've never heard of it before, but it sounds awesome.

Was a big fan of the singleplayer (although I preferred the first one).

Waso, which faction are you using? I ended up with the Cthulhuesque Deep Ones clone the first time I played. Razz

In retrospect, that was a horrible first faction to learn the game on.

I'm playing as Marignon in the Middle Ages, with a mighty Phoenix carrying my name to glory everlasting. (he just sits there casting fireball over and over. If anyone ever gets close to him, they die instantly from the heat of his mighty loins.)

All choices made pretty much randomly or on 'oooh, shiny!' factor.

Also I take back my previous comment - after a shaky start, I am now firmly dominating the (normal difficulty) AI.

Although my not-so-mighty prophet Angelique went and got herself killed by some little undead guy with a fucking fork as a weapon. Oh well.

Heh, been playin this for a while.

It's alright, though I only play it when I need a change of scenery.

I tend to play as Ulm or one of the heims.

I can't really make up my mind about it.

It's either a very deep strategic game, or a seemingly-complicated but ultimately very simple game.

It seems like every time I play I just do exactly the same thing - there is always one or two good strategies and a whole lot of rubbish ones.

Although to be fair most games are like that once you get a handle on them - most choices are merely the illusion of choice.

But I'm not sure yet. Will play more - gonna start a game as EA Ulm.

Well I think it's a seemingly-complicated but ultimately very simple game.

Either I'm right or I'm just a tactical genius Razz
